Xcaret(72 km. south of Cancun): Billed as "nature's sacred paradise" this private
ranch-turned resort combines interesting ruins with beautiful
coves, inlets and natural wells. Excellent for swimming(even with dolphins!), snorkeling,
and sunbathing. A couple of small temples are here, and there is good restaurant as well. A colorful
bus departs daily from Cancun to Xcaret.

This is where the sea turtles, mainly tortoises and green turtles come to nest.
The bay is tranquil and protected by a reef. Bicycles and water sports equipment
are available for rent, and there are villas, hotels and condos as well as several
restaurants.

Isla Mujeres:
This is one of the most typically Mexican spots in the Yucatan with a town of
rustic homes and sandy beaches. It has the world's second largest reef, the Gran
Arrecife Maya. The island is south of Cancun and reached by small motorboats
or sailboats. There are accommodations to suit every budget and a variety of
restaurants. Rent motor bikes or take a fishing tour.

This is the preferred destination for diving and snorkeling enthusiasts,
and can be reached by ferry, or by plane. One of the most popular attractions
is Chankanaab National Park, where the lagoon is popular with snorkelers
