[MONEY EXCHANGE]
You can exchange money with a money changer or at banks, major hotels or at the airport . Business hours of banks are usually AM8:00-PM3:00 on weekdays and AM8:00-PM1:00 on Saturdays. Most of the main banks are found in Denpasar. Main beaches like Kuta and Sanur have money changers to back up the banks and they often offer better exchange rates than the bank. Credit cards are accepted at major hotels and shops.

[CLIMATE]
April-September: The Dry Season. Average temperature is around 28 degrees Celsius (82 degrees Fahrenheit). The best time to visit Bali for marine activities and sightseeing.
October-March: The Rainy Season. Average temperature is around 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit).

[GEOGRAPHY]
An area of 5620 square km (140km by 80km). 8 degrees south of the equator.

[ECONOMY]
Bali's economy is basically agrarian. Coffee, copra and cattle are major agricultural exports, while most of the rice grown goes to feed the island's own teeming population.

[ACCOMMODATION]
BOTTOM END: A "losmen" (economical guesthouse seen mainly in Kuta, Sanur or Ubud) or a bungalow usually equipped with only water showers and fans will cost you 10-30 US$ or 1,000-3,000 JPY.
MIDDLE: For a budget of 50-100 US$ or 5,000-10,000 JPY , you can stay at a middle class hotel which usually has a restaurant and a swimming pool. Most of the hotels of this class are equipped with air conditioners, hot showers and bath tubs.
TOP END: The room charges for luxurious hotels are not so expensive as those in other Asian main cities. The range of room charges is 100-500 US$ or 10,000-50,000 JPY.

[TRANSPORTATION]
SHUTTLE BUS: Comfortable buses, generally equipped with an air conditioner will take you from one of the main beaches/villages to another. You can make a reservation at travel agencies or bus companies.
BEMO: This is the most common public transportation. The vehicle is shaped like a van, with the back seats turned around so passengers face each other, allowing the vehicle to seat over 10 people. Good for short distance, within the city of Denpasar, or to get you from places like Nusa Dua to Kuta to Sanur.
TAXI: Many taxis are cruising in the main beaches or in Ubud.
