At 43 meters, the pagoda is the highest structure in the area. From the top, you can look out over islands and rowboats stretching out below. Behind the pagoda is the green expanse of a golf course. At Cheng Ching Lake there are many towers and pavilions which exemplify a variety of famous old architectural styles.

Shoushan is located to the west of Kaohsiung. Visitors can take Kushan 1st Road directly to this scenic area, which is about 15 minutes by car from city center. At Shoushan Park, a trail leads to scenic views of the ocean and nearby hilltops, where cute indigenous Taiwanese monkeys can be seen. Shoushan Zoo is located to the left of the park
